Open Access Policy
The International Humanities Research Nexus (IHRN) is committed to the principle that scholarly research should be freely and universally accessible. By adopting a Gold Open Access model, IHRN seeks to facilitate global knowledge exchange and foster greater access for researchers, educators, practitioners, and the wider public.
All content published by IHRN is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, enabling users to copy, distribute, remix, and build upon the work for any purpose, even commercially—provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source.
Authors are encouraged to self-archive the publisher’s version of their accepted articles in institutional and subject-based repositories.
Benefits of Open Access Publishing
- Enhanced Visibility and Readership
Open Access ensures that research articles are freely available to a global audience, significantly increasing readership and citation potential. - Faster Knowledge Dissemination
By removing access barriers, Open Access accelerates the dissemination of research findings, promoting timely engagement and scholarly communication. - Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration
Freely available articles encourage interdisciplinary research and foster collaboration across diverse academic fields. - Public Engagement and Societal Impact
Open Access enables access to research for policymakers, educators, journalists, and the general public, enhancing the societal relevance of academic work. - Cost Efficiency
Open Access reduces financial burdens on institutions, libraries, and individual researchers by eliminating subscription-based access models. - Transparency and Reproducibility
Openly accessible findings support transparency in the research process and promote reproducibility, building trust in academic publications.
Open Access Model
International Humanities Research Nexus (IHRN) operates under a Gold Open Access model. All accepted articles are freely available online immediately upon publication.
Authors retain copyright and grant IHRN a license to publish under the CC BY 4.0 license.
Article Processing Charges (APCs)
To sustain Open Access publishing operations, IHRN applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted articles.
These charges support editorial processing, professional typesetting, digital archiving, and long-term online hosting. IHRN strives to keep APCs affordable and competitive while maintaining high publishing standards.
Waivers and Discounts
IHRN is mindful of financial challenges faced by researchers, particularly those from developing and South Asian countries.
Accordingly, waivers and discounts are offered to eligible authors. Institutional members may also receive special publication discounts.
Requests for waivers must be submitted during the initial manuscript submission stage.
Commitment to Open Access
The International Humanities Research Nexus (IHRN) is unwavering in its dedication to promoting Open Access as a tool for scholarly inclusion, transparency, and impact.
By embracing Open Access, IHRN fosters a more equitable academic environment, encourages collaborative research, and enhances the global reach of humanities scholarship.
