Crossmark Policy

The International Social Research Nexus (ISRN) is fully committed to ensuring the integrity, reliability, and transparency of its published scholarly content. To support this commitment, ISRN participates in the Crossmark service provided by Crossref. By applying the Crossmark button to our articles, readers can easily verify whether the version of record they are viewing is the most current and can access any updates, corrections, retractions, or other important publishing information related to that article.

What is Crossmark?

Crossmark is an initiative developed by Crossref to provide a standardized way for readers to determine the current status of scholarly content. When readers click on the Crossmark logo displayed on ISRN articles (both in HTML and PDF formats), they will be able to view the publication’s update history, including any corrections, retractions, or other status changes.

ISRN Update and Correction Policy

ISRN adheres to internationally recognized best practices for scholarly publishing and ensures that any necessary updates to published content are made transparently and promptly. Such updates may include:

  1. Corrections (Errata/ Corrigenda):
    Minor errors that do not affect the validity of the overall research findings but require correction for accuracy and clarity.
  2. Retractions:
    In cases where serious flaws, ethical concerns, or research misconduct are identified that invalidate the article’s findings, the article will be formally retracted in line with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
  3. Addenda:
    When additional important information becomes available after publication, it may be issued as an addendum and linked directly to the original article.
  4. Version Control:
    Each correction, addendum, or retraction will be clearly documented through Crossmark and linked to the article’s DOI, ensuring full transparency for readers.

Publisher’s Responsibility

ISRN takes full responsibility for ensuring that all updates, corrections, and retractions are promptly deposited with Crossref so that the Crossmark record reflects the current and authoritative status of each article. Readers can always rely on the Crossmark button to confirm whether the content they are viewing is up to date.
